jQWidgets Roadmap

jQWidgets is evolving quickly. Our development schedule is very aggressive and we are committed to equip you with the best tools for Angular, Vue, React, Blazor, HTML5, JavaScript and jQuery User Interface development. The plan for the next release period is focused on the following improvements:

jQWidgets Roadmap, October 2026 - March 2027

jQWidgets v27.0.0 introduced audited accessibility, a published security process and framework packages built for current Angular, React and Vue. The next six months build on that with the things enterprise teams ask us for most: predictable support, verifiable releases, and documentation and tooling that make large deployments easier to run. Dates are targets and may change; this page is updated with each release.

Q4 2026 (October - December)

• Long-term support and security patches for the previous major version
  Each major version will receive security fixes for 18 months after its successor ships, starting with a v26.x patch for CVE-2026-78178 so teams that cannot upgrade immediately are still protected. Minor releases will follow a published quarterly calendar.
• Signed, verifiable releases
  npm packages published with build provenance, the CycloneDX software bill of materials included in every package and download, and checksums on the download page, so your security team can verify what they install.
• Strict Content Security Policy support
  All widgets will run under a strict CSP without 'unsafe-inline' or 'unsafe-eval', with an optional nonce setting for applications that require one. Verified across the full demo suite.
• Independently audited accessibility conformance report
  The v27 conformance report audited by a third party as a VPAT 2.5 covering WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508 and EN 301 549, with the AA claim extended to the Material, Fluent and Bootstrap themes and testing with JAWS and VoiceOver in addition to NVDA.
• ES module exports with tree-shaking
  Named ES module exports for every widget, on top of today's per-widget bundles, so bundlers include only what you use. Verified in Vite, webpack, Next.js and the Angular CLI, with published bundle sizes for every widget.

Q1 2027 (January - March)

• Framework updates
  Angular standalone components with signal inputs; a Next.js App Router example for React 19; Vue 3 script-setup typings and a Nuxt module. Every framework package is tested against a real application on each release.
• Data Grid: pinned rows, print layout and a published benchmark
  Rows pinned to the top or bottom of the grid, a print layout that renders the full data set, and a reproducible one-million-row benchmark, alongside a published feature comparison with other enterprise grids.
• Scheduler and Gantt
  Undo and redo and iCalendar import in Scheduler; critical path and resource levelling in Gantt.
• AI in more widgets
  The AI modules introduced in v27 for Grid, Scheduler and Gantt extended to Form, DataTable, PivotGrid and Kanban, with ready-made adapters for Azure OpenAI and locally hosted models alongside the existing Anthropic, OpenAI and custom adapters, and a global switch that turns AI features off for deployments where no data may leave your infrastructure.
• Design tokens and a Figma UI kit
  Every theme fully driven by one documented token set, exported by the Theme Builder, with a Figma kit matching the Material, Fluent and Tailwind themes. Charts, gauges and every remaining widget will follow the active theme, including dark themes.
• Localization
  Date and number formatting through the browser's Intl API, more than 40 ready-made locales, and right-to-left rendering verified for every widget by the visual test suite.
• Migration tooling and versioned documentation
  A command-line migration tool that updates projects between major versions, upgrade guides for each release, API documentation that shows the version each feature was introduced in, and a written deprecation policy: announced in one release, warned in the next, removed no sooner than two majors later.
• Enterprise support tier and procurement pack
  Guaranteed response times, a named support engineer, a source escrow option, and a downloadable compliance pack with the SBOM, accessibility conformance report, penetration test summary, and our development and vulnerability management policies.
