Styling and Appearance

jQWidgets uses a pair of CSS files - jqx.base.css and jqx.[theme name].css. The base stylesheet creates the styles related to the widget's layout like margin, padding, border-width, position. The second css file applies the widget's colors and backgrounds. The jqx.base.css should be included before the second CSS file.

Below is the list of CSS classes used by jqxSplitLayout.
  • jqx-widget – applied to the jqxSplitLayout.
  • jqx-split-layout-component – applied to the jqxSplitLayout.
  • jqx-split-layout – applied to the jqxSplitLayout's first child.
  • jqx-layout-item - applied to each layout item in the jqxSplitLayout
  • jqx-tab-layout-item - applied to each tab layout item in the jqxSplitLayout
  • jqx-layout-tab-strip - applied to the Tabs header of jqxSplitLayout tab panels.
  • jqx-layout-tab - applied to a Tab in the jqxSplitLayout tab panels.
  • jqx-split-layout-feedback - applied to the dragged Tab panel for end-user feedback.
  • jqx-layout-drop-area - applied to the drop area when dragging is performed by the end-user.
When you create a custom style with colors and backgrounds for jqxSplitLayout, you need to do the following:
  • Add the above CSS classes related to jqxSplitLayout
  • After each CSS class, add your theme name.
    For example:
    jqx-split-layout-summer
  • To apply your custom style to jqxSplitLayout, you need to set its 'theme' property(option) to point to your theme name string.
