Typing in Filter Row does not Change data

Hello, I am new to jqwidgets and trying to use Grid. I followed the tutorial at https://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widgets-documentation/documentation/phpintegration/php-server-side-grid-filtering.htm and now want filters for each row. I set
showfilterrow: true,
filterable: true,
But when entering a string, nothing on the page changes. I have the jqwidgets/jqxgrid.filter.js script linked properly as well.

How do I make the filters dynamically change the rows being shown? Is there another script that needs to be included?
