Can I prevent paste into a cell?

I have a grid that has selectionmode: ‘singlecell’ so that users can copy long numeric cell values to their clipboard with ease for use in other parts of the application by selecting the cell with a single click and pressing CTRL + C. Can I retain this functionality and yet prevent users from pasting values into the cells?

Here is a rough approximation of my setup. As you can see, you can paste values into a grid, and it actually changes the value of the row.

You can check which key is pressed in the handlekeyboardnavigation function which is part of the jqxGrid API. Here’s how to disable Pasting in jqxGrid cells:

I apologize, but I failed to include some specifics of our grid. Upon further review, this solution doesn’t work for us. We have a grid with some columns editable, some not. We would still like to allow paste into cells of editable columns, but prevent it for cells of non-editable columns. Here is a more accurate setup.

What is happening is that, we check the datafield of the current column that the cell belongs to. If the cell is not editable, we simply disable the paste functionality. If more than one column is not editable just add it ot the if case if(currentCell.datafield == 'firstName' || ...).
