I am new to JQuery but in order to begin, I read a book on CSS then on JavaScript, I was planning to take another book on Ajax and then get to JQuery before launcing my application as I was advised to. But after reading some few chapters in the Ajax book, I am almost lost, it seems so complicated for me and to long. My question is, can I jump directly to JQuery (and jQWidgets) ? Is the knowledge of Ajax compulsory for building JQuery-Php-MySQL applications ?
