That’s the widget i suggest. It’s the type of GUI control we know in iTunes for example.
The suggestion comes with 2 slight modifications :

    – still being able to right click on an entry to obtain a context menu, just like we do with a treeview
    – being able to drag&drop an entry out of the columns so that the “extracted entry” would become a new windows in a docking environment http://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widgets-demo/#demos/jqxdocking/defaultfunctionality.htm

Forum rules forbid examples but i can send the references in private mail or by support in case of need.

I would also add results of search in each active column.
A click on one of the results shows only the “Miller path” driving to it

Looks interesting. I will create a new work item regarding this, but can’t provide you any details whether or when it will be implemented.

Fair enough. If you release such interesting widgets in a separated “Pro package”, i would also buy it.
It’s worth it when original components with real added values are proposed.

I sent you references by mail, the demo link showing the behaviour.

I hesitate for the best way to implement this component and would be curious to have your thinking on it :

    – the first way is the classical display and behaviour of a MillerColumn

    – the second way, saving horizontal scrolling and allowing to better focus on condensed information where there are a lot of entries (which is almost always true or we would not use millercolums), would be to use for each colum (and each entry when applicable) the jqxNavigationBar component.

What is your thinking about this ?

I prefer the ‘classic’ way of rendering. It’s simpler and I like things to be simple 🙂
