We are begining to test hibryd apps for mobile devices. We are thinking about using ionic, angular and apache cordoba like our core for creating hybrid app.

Your library is enable to work in this kind of environment?.

    Hi rubenfernande3,

The full list of supported frameworks & libraries can be found on: http://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widgets-documentation/. Ionic is not in the list for now.

    Hi jmarqz,

Angular is supported as you can see from the website demos & documentation. Angular 2 is still not. We are working hard to add support about it and this will happen in the next couple of weeks. Ionic is not.

I connect to this older post because I have a similar question…..
I’m beginning to think about a mobile app, that needs to work with off-line data, and I would like to know if the right and only way to build an hybrid app with jqWidgets is to pack it with phonegap.

    Kind regards,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

jQWidgets does not depend on specific frameworks. We have integration tutorials with other popular frameworks such as PhoneGap. If you think PhoneGap is the right one for you, then it will be easier to build such app as we have documentation about it. However, I see no problem to use anything in general.

    Hi Peter,
as I’m new to mobile app development, I would need to understand one thing from you: actually my knowledge in your product is based on previous works in jqwidgets + bootstrap + php + mysql.

The mobile app that I need to develop must be deployed by the different app stores of iOS and Android.
So to try to reuse some of my skill, I’m thinking to build this app using jqwidgets, bootstrap and package it by phonegap.

What do you think about? Is this a possible approach?

    King regards,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I think it’s possible to develop such app. We have tutorials about using jQWidgets along with PhoneGap and Bootstrap.

    Hi Petter,

Two years after, do you know if something has changed about ionic framework compatibility ? (with Angular 2, 4 or 6)

I succedded to install it from scratch with a new Cordova App. But I have many issues with ionic.

    Best regards,

    Hi Fabien Goncalves,

We are not aware of issues with Ionic. We also do not have reported such. We have not tested our product with this framework, but since our product is based on javascript and does not have third-party dependencies, we do not see an issue to use it with any framework.
