How to get a reference to resource's DropDownList in TS

Hello,

I need to get a TS object reference to the resource’s DropDownList (i.e jqxDropDownListComponent).

From EditDialogOpen or EditDialogCreate I can access the field using event.args.fields.resource[“0”];
however I get a reference to an HTML object, and as such I can not call the jqxDropDownListComponent’s method.

How can I get the jqxDropDownListComponent object out of the event.args.fields.resource[“0”] ?

You can do this in the following way:
let dropDownList = $(fields.resource[0]).jqxDropDownList('getInstance');

I have created a StackBlitz Example for this.

Hi Martin,

Thank you so much for your help.

I installed jQuery using
npm install --save jquery
and
npm install -D @types/jquery

in order to use the $ call.

But I do get the following error in the ts script:
[ts] Property ‘jqxDropDownList’ does not exist on type ‘JQuery<any>’.

when using

$(fields.resource[0]).jqxDropDownList('getInstance');

Any idea on what I am missing ?

Hello Didier,

Actually, you can just use declare var $; in the ts file, instead of installing jquery.
It will use it from the jqwidgets-scripts files.
