Grid Sort Box Too Long

I’ve added sortable: true too a grid, and when I click on the sort icon to sort the menu, the gridmenu div that displays is 309px (when I set the height to “auto” in the browser’s inspector is changes to 84px, which looks correct.

This happens whether I’m using a theme or not. It happens on Windows and Mac, and in Chrome, Firefox and Safari (though in Safari it is only about 20px too long).

Any ideas? This does not happen with any of the jqWidgets demos.

I am trying to isolate the issue. The page with the grid is complex and I want to be able to recreate the issue with as little code as possible.
