About support for jQuery 1.9

Hi,

I note that the lastest jQWidgets has added support for jQuery 1.9, do all its functions still work well with jQuery 1.8?

And as the function $.browser is deprecated in jQuery 1.9, will that impact lastest jQwidgets?

Hi midi,

We support jQuery 1.9 since its release. You can see the Release History about jQWidgets 2.6.1(Jan 18). jQuery removed “$.browser”, but that does not have any impact for us as we do not use it.

Just downloaded the source for our enterprise license
jqx-all.js is marked with: “jQWidgets v2.8.0 (2013-Mar-22)”

Yet $.browser is used many times within the file causing me to have to downgrade the version of jquery I’m using.
What gives?

Hi duncanmeech,

We are aware that the browser detection plug-in is removed in jQuery 1.9. You may also see in the Release History that we support that version since Jan-18-2013. $.browser is not used anywhere in our code so please, make sure that you checked correctly. We use $.jqx.browser in our code which is implemented in jqxCore.
