jQuery UI Widgets › Forums › Lists › ListBox › timing issue possibly resolved by a Promise

is there any way to somehow run .jqxListBox in a Promise or an async/await function? i need to pause execution until this call has been successfully completed.
it appears that .jqxListBox does not return anything, and i am unsure if that can be used in a promise.
i am tempted to use a setTimeout(), but there are warnings against using this practice.
disregard this question please – no longer necessary.
Thank you for the update!
