Is there a way or an existing setting to increase the number of characters that a textfield filter initiates on. It currently begins searching when 1 character is enter. Would like to make that search begin at 4 or 5 characters.

{ text: ‘Name’, dataField: ‘name’, columntype: ‘textbox’, filtertype: ‘textbox’, filtercondition: ‘contains’ }

Unfortunately, it is not possible to customize the built-in filtering widgets. For custom filtering implementations, please take a look at this example: customfiltering.htm.
