I am not able to see the Icons for the notifications. Is there something other than what is in the example I need to include?

I have included the directories
jqwidgets
jqwidgets/styles
jqwidgets/styles/jqx.base.css
jqwidgets/styles/images
The png files are in the images folder but do not show up in notification…
All other images seem to work…

The samples are working: http://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widgets-demo/demos/jqxnotification/index.htm#demos/jqxnotification/javascript-notification-timer.htm. The samples in the download package are the same, the images are there and they work, too. I would suggest you to update all your files and clear your browsing history. If you do not see an image, then most probably the image is not copied in your working folder.
