There seems to be an issue with menus or top level menus in the new JQWidgets 8.x version. With autoOpen: false, If you have a url in the href of a child menu, when you click on the parent menu or top level menu the first menu item in the in the child menu is executed. You should get a drop down menu which allows to select one of the child menu or sub menu choices.
