Grid on search

I have a grid & a custom search on the grid. I have loaded it with data of 100 records & displaying 10 per page. Issue is when am second page of pagination and search for any record if records are <10 it must take us to the first page but am in the same page from where i search, that mean in the second page. Can you please suggest on this.
