This is a feature request. If there is a better place for those, please let me know.
Many calendars include a way to directly choose a year and month. This calendar has a next and previous button that takes the user to the next and previous month. For choosing a far flung year or month, it is tedious. This feature can easily get pretty ugly so it is important to do it elegantly. Some example jQuery tools that do support this include. There are others too. I think the first of those is the only one that I’d consider because it provides the request but also looks decent. The others present a lot of usability issues.
