What is jQWidgets?

jQWidgets is a jQuery based framework for building modern web-based applications that work on PC, Touch and Mobile devices. All widgets in the suite are built from scratch based on the jQWidgets Framework. The suite does not have any dependencies on the jQuery UI.

What is a commercial website?

A commercial website is a website which purpose is generating revenue or cash flow of any type, and that isn’t under a non-profit organization. So if you’re selling a product, selling advertisement, selling a service or just marketing a commercial business, your site is commercial. A company website is also commercial even if it doesn’t sell anything, as it’s purpose is to front a commercial company.

How is jQWidgets suite licensed?

The suite is dual licensed.

Non-commercial license
If you want to build a very cool Web Apps or improve your personal blog or website you can use jQWidgets for free under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 License. It is costly to build good developer tools. We will appreciate if you help us make jQWidgets popular. If you like it tell your friends or link to our web site.

  • For non-profit organizations, public schools and non-commercial personal websites.
  • For developing and testing applications using jQWidgets
Commercial License
The commercial license is suitable for commercial websites and projects or a corporate intranet. Each license includes product updates for one year from the date of purchase and royalty free distribution. License renewal is optional and costs 50% of the price of a new license.   • Website License – For 1 developer and 1 website.
  • Developer License – For 1 developer and unlimited number of projects. Includes full source code.
  • Enterprise License – For all developers within one organization and unlimited number of projects. Includes full source code.

How do you define a developer?

Each person who directly or indirectly creates an application or user interface containing jQWidgets is considered a developer.

How many websites or projects can I build with the jQWidgets Developer or Enterprise License?

You can use the Developer or Enterprise license for building as many websites or projects as you need. The license includes royalty-free distribution.

Do I have to pay you royalties if I use your product within my application?

jQWidgets never charges royalties or per-server deployment fees.

Do you accept checks?

Yes, we do. Please contact our Sales Team at sales@jQWidgets.com for information and a proforma invoice. We will activate your subscription immediately after we clear the check.

I’m developing a product that I provide for free. However, I do charge for supporting this product. Can I use the non-commercial license for developing this product?


No. Even though the product you develop is free, it is part of an overall commercial offering.

Do I need separate licenses for production and build machines?

No. The licensing is not per-machine and therefore you don’t need additional licenses for production servers, test and build machines.The product is licensed per-developer seat based on an annual subscription model. This means that you get 12 months of technical support and free upgrades to minor and major versions.

Do you offer competitive upgrades?

Yes, we do offer competitive upgrades. Please contact our sales team at sales@jQWidgets.com for more information.

What is considered a support incident?

Any support request sent to support@jqwidgets.com is considered to be a support incident. One support request may cost more than one support incident if multiple questions are asked on unrelated issues.

How do I receive the invoice for my purchase?

To request an invoice, please send an e-mail to sales@jQWidgets.com. We will send you a PDF invoice.
